Baby knitting: knitted baby booties


Size: 80cm

Needles: 3,5 mm douple-pointed needles (5 pcs)

Yarn: 75g (= 144m) Sirdar Snuggly Baby Bamboo DK (80% Bamboo, 20% Wool)




Appreviations
: SKP - Slip 1 stitch, knit 1, pass the slipped stitch over the knitted
Instructions:
Started with bottom, CO 30sts ”Turkish cast-on” (there are instructions all over the internet), knit in round. *inc. in
every 2nd row 2sts in “every corner”* 5 times (=70sts). Knit 5 rows, then next row, knit together with the stitches from
the 5th row down (4 rows will make the bump in between).
Knit 6 rows.
Continue the top with the 13sts (= 11 stitches lace pattern + end stitches, skp or p2tog, included) in the front, first row
decrease in the middle 2sts (=11sts total in the front), skp the last (front) sts and 1 from the next (left side) needle. Turn.
Slip 1, purl 9, p2tog the last (front) sts and 1 from the next (right side) needle. Continue front (lace pattern at 3rd row)
as described until 42 stitches (29 resting, 13 at front) remain on the work. Knit to the middle back.


\ skp - slip, knit, pass (decrease)
/ k2tog - knit 2 together (decrease)
O YO - yarn over (increase)
V - knit on the right side, purl on the wrong side
{chart does not include end stitches that are skp or p2tog on both sides}

In leg (42sts) first round: in middle back k3tog, *yo, k2tog* rep 9 times to middle front, yo, k3tog, *yo, skp* rep 9
times to middle back (before the last rounds k3tog) and yo (= 40sts). Start k2p2-rib. Make 4 cm rib, then in back turn
the work, slip 1 and continue knitting stockinette in round. (gap of 1st and 4th needle is in middle back)
In the second row, M1 in every 5 stitches (=48sts).
On 8th row after rib make - K1, M1, K1, M1, SKP, SKP, k2tog, k2tog, M1, K1, M1, K1 - rep. until EOR. Knit 9th row,
10th row as 8th. Knit 11th row. 12th row as: - YO, K1, YO, K1, YO, SKP, SKP, k2tog, k2tog, YO, K1, YO, K1 - rep.
until EOR. Knit 2 rows stockinette and then 1 row - K1, P1 - (rep. until EOR). Then cast off.
Use Lazy Daisy Stitches (Link Stitches) to finish the flower. Tread a ribbon to the ankle.
